Present Simple and Present Continuous

Present Simple is used when talking about routines or statements, while Present continuous deals with actions that take place in the moment of the speech or proximal future. Let's see how their structures work:
Present Simple is quite easy to form. You have to write the root of the verb you are using and paying attention to the person: if it is 3rd person singular (he,she,it) you have to add -s or -es to the root of the verb. For example the verb "speak":
I speak You speak
He speaks She speaks
It speaks We speak
You speak They speak

I speak English
He plays football on Wednesdays

Present Continuous is formed by writing the correct form of the verb "to be" in Present Simple, and adding -ing to the root of the initial verb. Let's use the verb "play" in this example.
I am playing You are playing
He is playing She is playing
It is playing We are playing
You are playing They are playing

I am playing football now
She is working on Sunday
